In case anyone wants to know I have owned both the Predator 8750 regular generator and the Predator 8750 INVERTER GENERATOR.. The regular generator powered my "all electric" mobile home (water heater, stove, and oil heaters for winter) with no problem. I had it for several years until it went out. I went to buy another one at Harbor freight and they were out of the regular 8750 Predators. I was told by their salesman the 8750 INVERTER GENERATOR was as good. It was NOT. I had to turn my electric water heater off and not use the electric stove for it to keep producing power. It only lasted 3 uses and the inverter went out. It could not handle the same load as the normal Predator 8750 generator could..The inverter generator would go into "Over load" mode and stop producing power. It DID get much better fuel economy but what good did that fuel economy do me if it no longer produced electricity? The inverter WAS MUCH quieter. When the "inverter" module went out it cost $400 for a replacement inverter module to fix it. ALSO the replacement carburetors for the inverter generator are $70 compared to $30 for the regular generator. All replacement parts on the inverter generator are MUCH higher..If you do choose the INVERTER generator make sure you buy the $200 extended warranty. That makes the total price of the inverter generator $1,300.. According to the Harbor Freight management the inverter is a common part that goes out. A positive for the inverter generator is it's much smaller.

I would have tinned the surface around the hole and the copper patch both where they will connect.....before fluuxing again then solder it up. That way, you know it won't leak. I USE BRAKE CLEANER on the sanded surfaces prior to tinning both pieces. I did it that way plumbing a whole house in copper. Only had one pinhole leak in hundreds of connections. That leak only required draining the pipes, and just reheating hitting it with solder again from the outside. I used an electric soldering machine I borrowed from a friend who is a plumber. It had two settings for small and larger fittings. I put an asbestos sheet under where I soldered each fitting, to prevent setting the attic on fire. I have a gas tank I need to solder where a down bolt rubbed a hole in the edge seam. I have to drive it to run out the gas first, then I will drop the tank and make a copper piece to solder it up. The tank is dirty inside , so I will address that at that time. Thanks for your idea. Kudos.

50/50 chance of getting the right parts. No customer service means no returns. Have had good stuff and lots of bad. Ordered a front end rebuild kit for my wife's car, 1995 Mercury cougar Xr7. Got most of the parts but some end links but will not fit this car. Stick with a big name local shops where you can talk to someone in person. Never a problem at my local Auto zone.

With Rock auto you order the right parts. But someone switched the parts around in the boxes. So you get the wrong part in the box with the correct part number on it. There definitely not worth dealing with to save a little money.

I just ordered this welder as my first welder. I bought the HF Vulcan Omnipro 220 - and it was DOA. It did not inspire confidence to exchange for a new one (after the warranty, there is no way to get parts). So took it back to HF and they tried to tell me that I either had to pay a $220 restocking fee or swap it for a new one. I was polite but persistent and got a full refund...decided to pay the extra for this unit given the $400 rebate, the brand name, 3 year warranty, and replacement parts. Hoping for the best. How long did it take for you to get your rebate after submitting the form?

And yes, you are correct, they do not openly advertise or offer rain check coupons. The rain check coupons are only used for discouraging customer disputes to maintain a healthy relationship with the costumers. To be honest, HF has an excellent reputation with customer satisfaction. Hell, most of the employees will just give the pertinent coupon at the counter if you even mention it.
